“…17 To address these issues, a strategy of organic-assisted water electrolysis has been developed for H 2 production. 18 Oxidation of some sacrificial organic materials such as urea, 19,20 hydrazine, [21][22][23] and ammonia 24,25 that have lower potentials than the OER in the electrolysis process can efficiently decrease the voltage input and thus electricity consumption, but the high-cost sacrificial agents with low value-added gas products (N 2 ) or greenhouse gas (CO 2 ) can also lead to the loss of economic benefits.
