Fabrication of Meter-Long Coated Conductor Using RABiTS-PVD Methods

Abstract: The practical application of HTS materials in power devices requires the HTS conductor which is long, powerful (high current carrying), and affordable. Many different methods for making practical coated conductor include multiple ways of obtaining texture templates and a variety of film deposition methods which include both physical and chemical routes. In this work, three film deposition systems (pulsed laser deposition, sputtering, and evaporation) equipped with reel-to-reel metal tape moving apparatus were … Show more

“…The preparation of the REBCO-CCs has been described in detail elsewhere [19,20]. Two pieces (4 mm  4 mm  0.1 mm (with $1 lm YBCO)) of YBCO-CCs which are based on RABiTS and IBAD, respectively, were used as the samples for magnetization studies.…”

“…In applications, however, the transport current loss is also very important, because in most of the applications, the HTS tapes are used as a current carrying conductor. This paper deals with transport current losses of several commercially available and home made BSCCO tapes and YBCO tapes fabricated by IBAD-PLD and RABiTS-PLD methods [4].…”

“…In this study, a home made YBCO tape which is developing step was used, therefore, the value of critical current is lower than that of other commercial YBCO tapes [3]. In case of the HTS tapes with neighbored Ni tape, the critical currents are slightly decreased as 66.…”
