Fabrication of Interconnected Plasmonic Spherical Silver Nanoparticles with Enhanced Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) Peaks Using Quince Leaf Extract Solution

Abstract: Interconnected spherical metallic silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized in the current study using a green chemistry method. The reduction of silver ions to Ag NPs was carried out with low-cost and eco-friendly quince leaves. For the first time, it was confirmed that the extract solution of quince leaves could be used to perform green production of Ag NPs. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was conducted to identify the potential biomolecules that were involved in the Ag NPs. The results d… Show more

“…In fact, based on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR), the oscillation leads to high absorption and scattering. Therefore, a relatively high extinction coefficient has been counted for these NPs for the processes of absorption and scattering cross-section that is 10 times greater than the physical cross-section [ 100 , 101 ].…”

“…At first glance, the stability of the Ag NPs was carried out after 15 months of storage using UV–vis absorption spectra in ref. [ 101 ]. The absorption band around 320–780 nm resulted owing to the Ag NPs surface plasmon absorption has not shown any change in both cases, demonstrating the relatively large stability of silver NPs within the host polymer.…”

“…Conjugated double bonds are present in both quince leaves and chloroquine structure. In the case of quince leaves, three different functional groups can be observed, namely alcohol, ether, and ketone, while in the chloroquine structure several amine groups can be found [ 33 ].…”

“…The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) as a robust technique for identifying the morphological appearance of nanostructured materials was acquired [ 26 ]. From the FESEM, both morphology and surface composition of metal frameworks were characterized using energy dispersive X-rays analysis (EDX) to an effort to support the XRD results.…”
