Fabrication of a graphene coated nonwoven textile for industrial applications

Abstract: A cost effective electrically conductive textile for large scale applications would revolutionise numerous industries. Herein, we demonstrate a novel processing approach to produce conductive textiles for industrial applications. A conductive nonwoven textile was successfully fabricated using a simple dip coating method. The nonwoven polyester was coated with liquid crystallite graphene oxide with subsequent non-toxic chemical reduction. The process is readily scalable. The graphene coated fabric has been char… Show more

“…These information was then corelated to determine the binding energy spectra and composition of the coating at parts per thousand range. 47 Tensile properties were measured using Instron 5565 instrument. Samples were preconditioned at 65% relative humidity, 20 C for 12 hours before testing.…”

“…Due to incorporation of salts and alkalis in the waste effluents, value of dissolved solids increases into the effluent in the form of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) which also produces environmental pollution [14][15]. Improvement in dyeing techniques, machinery and use of more improved structural dyes has helped in reduction of organic salts and ultimately TDS in the effluents [16][17][18][19]. Use of organic salts instead of conventional inorganic salt could reduce the pollution problem because the removal and degradation of organic salts is easier.…”

“…[23][24][25][26][27][28] Certainly, exible textile electrodes prepared with RGO sheets have been widely researched due to their potential applications for wearable electronic systems. [29][30][31][32] Although some signicant research has been achieved, there are still some problems guaranteeing exible electrodes among the many possible benets from these achievements. Most of current research has focused on the coating technology of graphene with different loading conditions on a single fabric substrate.…”
