F-theory and AdS3/CFT2

We study AdS 3 × S 2 solutions in massive IIA that preserve small N = (4, 0) supersymmetry in terms of an SU(2)-structure on the remaining internal space. We find two new classes of solutions that are warped products of the form AdS 3 ×S 2 ×M 4 ×R. For the first, M 4 =CY 2 and we find a generalisation a D4-D8 system involving possible additional branes. For the second, M 4 need only be Kahler, and we find a generalisation of the T-dual of solutions based on D3branes wrapping curves in the base of an elliptically fibered Calabi-Yau 3-fold. Within these classes we find many new locally compact solutions that are foliations of AdS 3 × S 2 × CY 2 over an interval, bounded by various D brane and O plane behaviours. We comment on how these local solutions may be used as the building blocks of infinite classes of global solutions glued together with defect branes. Utilising T-duality we find two new classes of AdS 3 × S 3 × M 4 solutions in IIB. The first backreacts D5s and KK monopoles on the D1-D5 near horizon. The second is a generalisation of the solutions based on D3-branes wrapping curves in the base of an elliptically fibered CY 3 that includes non trivial 3-form flux.

3d printing of 2d $$ \mathcal{N}=\left(0,2\right) $$ gauge theories

We introduce 3d printing, a new algorithm for generating 2d N = (0, 2) gauge theories on D1-branes probing singular toric Calabi-Yau 4-folds using 4d N = 1 gauge theories on D3-branes probing toric Calabi-Yau 3-folds as starting points. Equivalently, this method produces brane brick models starting from brane tilings. 3d printing represents a significant improvement with respect to previously available tools, allowing a straightforward determination of gauge theories for geometries that until now could only be tackled using partial resolution. We investigate the interplay between triality, an IR equivalence between different 2d N = (0, 2) gauge theories, and the freedom in 3d printing given an underlying Calabi-Yau 4-fold. Finally, we present the first discussion of the consistency and reduction of brane brick models.

AdS 7 solutions of massive type IIA have been classified, and are dual to a large class of six-dimensional (1, 0) SCFT's whose tensor branch deformations are described by linear quivers of SU groups. Quivers and AdS vacua depend solely on the group theory data of the NS5-D6-D8 brane configurations engineering the field theories. This has allowed for a direct holographic match of their a conformal anomaly. In this paper we extend the match to cases where O6 and O8-planes are present, thereby introducing SO and USp groups in the quivers. In all of them we show that the a anomaly computed in supergravity agrees with the holographic limit of the exact field theory result, which we extract from the anomaly polynomial. As a byproduct we construct special AdS 7 vacua dual to nonperturbative F-theory configurations. Finally, we propose a holographic a-theorem for six-dimensional Higgs branch RG flows.
