F-MPSO: a hybrid metaheuristic approach based on the manifold distance for energy efficient-clustering in WSN

Abstract: This paper proposes an enhanced algorithm, called F-MPSO, for clustering to increase the lifetime of wireless sensor networks. Optimization for cluster head selection is a Non-Deterministic Polynomial (NP)-hard problem. The hybrid metaheuristic approach based on manifold distance has been introduced to cluster the sensor nodes.
