Abstract:The phytochemical analysis of Vernonia Amygdalina (bitter leaf) was carried out to determine the bioactive compound presenting. The plant had been use locally to treat diseases for decades. The extraction of bioactive compounds was done through aqueous and ethanol extraction. The main bioactive compounds are alkaloids, tannin. saponnin, steroids, glycoside and flavonoids.
