Abstract: Background: Children with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) are particularly susceptible to infections such as Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) due to the immunosuppressive effects of chemotherapy, which can progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and respiratory failure.
