Extra Compact Two Element Sub 6 GHZ Mimo Antenna for Future 5g Wireless Applications

Abstract: In this paper, a single band two element MIMO antenna for future 5G wireless applications at 5 GHz is presented. The antenna consists of T over T shaped meander microstrip lines printed on the front side and defected ground structure on the back side of an RT Rogers 5880 substrate, which are able to excite a resonance mode. The antenna operates at 4900 to 5060 MHz (|S 11 | < −10 dB) covering the 5G NR band n79. The antennas are to be placed symmetrically along the edges at the corners of the Smartphone panel. … Show more

“…The following table shows some literature about Sub-6G antenna in recent years. In these references, 1,3,[18][19][20][21][22][23][24] all designed antennas work at Sub-6GHz band, and antennas of references [18][19][20] belong to multi-band MIMO antennas. Antennas of references 1,3,[21][22][23][24] are wideband MIMO antennas, antennas of references 1,21 are only two-port MIMO antennas, and other antennas of references 3,23,24 are four-port MIMO antennas without connected ground.…”

“…The launch of the sub-6-GHz 5G cell spectrum frequency is based on optimizing the existing 4G technology that the industry has previously created. Sub-6 GHz is a turning point in terms of coverage and penetration, and the 5G experience is vastly different from that of mm-wave [30][31][32][33]. A novel synthesis approach based on mathematical equations is used to determine the physical parameters of DCRFSS-based spatial filters.…”

“…Using a neutralization line can reduce the mutual coupling in the antenna structure by using meander microstrip lines. It provides fexibility for the antenna [17]. For achieving better MIMO characteristics like broader bandwidth and higher isolation in an antenna, the authors use a ring resonatorbased coplanar waveguide to feed the ports [18].…”
