Depth dimensions are a fundamental linear type trait in the animal body included in dairy cattle science. Unfortunately, the prominent body depth dimension to milk yield is unspecified in lucidity. Thus, the objective of the current research was to identify the excellent body depth dimension of dairy cattle for milk yield as a selection precedence trait. The experiment employed 121 lactation Holstein cows aged specify as 2–6, raised on an Indonesian smallholder commercial dairy farm. R version 4.2.1 with RStudio software simultaneously worked as a statistical analysis tool. The principal component analysis (PCA), correlation, and regression analyses were executed sequentially. The product of the PCA revealed that the chest depth (CHD), body depth (BDD), and udder depth (UDD) traits are the essential body depth dimensions in dairy cattle. A crowning envoy associated with the milk yield capacity was delegated to the UDD trait. However, the UDD is the finest trait for the lactation cow selection program. Presumably, the BDD trait is the prime characteristic for calves and heifer selection schemes.

The exterior of 945 first-calf heifers of Holstein and Ukrainian Black-and-White and Red dairy breeds in the breeding herd LLC "Agricultural enterprise "Svitanok" of the Donetsk region was studied by the type and the main measurements of the body structure. During the fourteen-year period of improvement of the breeding herd, an improvement in the exterior of the cows was noted with an increase in the conditional proportion of Holstein blood, which was accompanied by an increase in the milk productivity of the cows. The genetic factor of paternal origin has the most significant influence on the variability of the external features of first-calf heifers. Paternal origin determined 8,8‒45,9% of the variability in the measurements of first-calf heifers, 10,5‒40,5% of the variability in the descriptive features of linear classification by type, 22,6% of the variability in the proportion of non-pigmented skin areas, and 57,6% of the variability in the milk productivity of first-calf heifers.

The research aims to study the reproductive indicators and dairy productivity of the modern Kazakhstan population of the Alatau cattle breed. The average duration of the dry period is within the physiological norm, being 60-75 days. As noted above, an increase in the service period can negatively affect herd reproduction. In this regard, some measures were taken to normalize the service period of 83.5, 79.6-83.5 days. The efficiency of the insemination of cows is 92-95%. In comparison with 2018, in 2019, milk productivity increased on average by 3.64% or 197.5 kg of milk, in 2020 by 5% or 268.8 kg of milk, in 2021-by 13.6% or by 736.7 kg of milk, but in 2022 there was a sharp decrease of 28% or 972.6 kg of milk Alatau cows during the first lactation produce milk in the amount of 5262.3±39.7 kg, with a fat content of 3.90% and a milk protein content of 3.25%. In the second lactation, the milk yield increases to 5788.9±51.0 kg, and in the third lactation to 5786.7±33.8 kg.
