Extenuation of phase shift influenced nonlinear impairments in fiber optics network

Abstract: Transmission of ultrahigh data rates through fiber optics networks (FONs) over long transmission distances in an intensity-dependent refractive index medium suffers from nonlinear self-steepening (NSS) and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS). In this paper, a FON model is proposed to compensate NSS and SRS impairments, using a theoretical model and its verification through simulation for different set of parameters. The proposed FON is designed to support 8, 16, and 32 channels with dual polarization quadrature … Show more

“…In other words, i = 2 and M = 2 define 4 QAM, i = 4 and M = 4 define 16 QAM, i = 6 and M = 8 define 64 QAM, and i = 8 and M = 16 define 256 QAM. In this research model, i = 4 and M = 4 along with i = 6 and M = 8 are analyzed [25]. The string of bits coming from the QAM are split into two cascaded arrays.…”

“…The ability to support error‐free high data rate transmission of optical network is directly related with the optical power at the receiver end. Increase in transmission capacity required addition of large number of data channels, which require high optical transmit power that leads to noise effects and system degradation due to Kerr nonlinearity, interference, and distortion of the transmitted signals for the UDWDM and long‐haul and ultrahigh speed optical transmission network (OTxN) 3 . These limitations impose an upper bound on the maximum effective optical signal‐to‐noise ratio (OSNR) of the link and reduce long‐haul and ultrahigh speed data rate transmission performance.…”

“…To satisfy the requests of group of future heterogeneous ON, different multiple access user technologies have been recommended [2]. This is comprised of wavelength division multiplex (WDM) [3] dependent ONs, code division various access (CDMA) [1] in light of ONs, and time division numerous entrance (TDMA) [3] in view of ONs. The essential element of using WDM licenses an enormous expansion in limit and segregation colligated with explicit wavelength to every customer.…”
