Abstract:The angular distributions (ADs) for 6Li + 27Al and 6He + 27Al elastic scattering in the energy range of 7–88 MeV and 9.5–13.4- MeV, respectively, are reanalyzed utilizing various phenomenological as well as microscopic potentials. This work aims to investigate the cluster nature of the weakly stable 6Li and the two-neutron halo 6He projectiles in order to check the associated breakup effects on the scattering data, in addition to examine the consistency of the results obtained within the different implemented … Show more
“…In other words, the analyses provide evidence for the absence of the TA and confirm the presence of the BTA in the 6 Li + 209 Bi system. Generally, the BTA is widely observed in nuclear systems induced by WB projectiles [19,53]. It is worth mentioning that the 6 Li + 209 Bi and 6 He + 208 Pb nuclear systems were investigated in [54] in order to study the BTA.…”

At energies between 24 and 50 MeV, the angular distributions of 6Li + 209Bi elastic scattering are reanalyzed phenomenologically as well as microscopically. The performed analysis adds to previous studies and aims to further explore the cluster nature of the 6Li nucleus by examining the associated breakup effects on the elastic scattering channel, in addition to probing the consistency of the different implemented potentials in reproducing the considered data. The strong coupling to the breakup channel has a strong influence on elastic data and reproduces a repulsive dynamical polarization potential (DPP), which dramatically reduces the real potential strengths. Such an observed effect was simulated by introducing a semi-microscopic repulsive DPP as well as by applying the continuum discretized coupled channels (CDCC) method. The analysis was extended to check the effect of direct deuteron stripping 209Bi(6Li,d)211Po on the elastic 6Li + 209Bi channel.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
