Extension of the $F_2$ structure function measurement towards low x and $Q^2$

Abstract

Abstract:The precise measurement of the proton structure function F 2 (x, Q 2 ) in a wide x-and Q 2 -range in deep inelastic ep scattering at HERA has been and continues to be one of the most exciting and instructive tests of perturbative QCD. An overview of the highlights of such analyses, in particular in H1 and ZEUS † , is given here.
