Extended Reissner–Nordström solutions sourced by dynamical torsion

Abstract: We find a new exact vacuum solution in the framework of the Poincaré Gauge field theory with massive torsion. In this model, torsion operates as an independent field and introduces corrections to the vacuum structure present in General Relativity. The new static and spherically symmetric configuration shows a Reissner-Nordström-like geometry characterized by a spin charge. It extends the known massless torsion solution to the massive case. The corresponding Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter solution is also compati… Show more

“…This is a natural extension of GR, which is able to successfully incorporate the intrinsic spin of fermions as a source of gravity, while passing all weak-field limit tests. Moreover, the theory has no free parameters but rather a single new scale given by Cartan's density, which yields many relevant applications in cosmology and astrophysics [15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23]. It is worth noting that ECSK is the simplest of all Poincaré gauge theories of gravity (PGTG).…”

“…Thereby, within this model, the axial component of the torsion tensor acts as a Coulomb-like potential depending on , in such a way that the conventional approach of GR is completely recovered when it vanishes. Furthermore, this type of configuration can also be extended to the case where the mentioned mode is considered massive [ 11 ]: …”
