Extended random-phase-approximation study of fragmentation of giant quadrupole resonance in $^{16}$O
Mitsuru Tohyama
Abstract:The damping of isoscalar giant quadrupole resonance in 16 O is studied using extended randomphase-approximation approaches derived from the time-dependent density-matrix theory. It is pointed out that the effects of ground-state correlations bring strong fragmentation of quadrupole strength even if the number of two particle-two hole configurations is strongly limited.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
