Abstract:Lipase‐catalyzed enantioselective synthetic reactions employing enol esters, activated esters, anhydrides, and oximes as acyl donors is a well‐consolidated strategy towards enantiopure compounds. However, lipases can also cleave the C−S bond of thioesters, proving that other classes of substances can be used as acyl donors in lipase‐catalyzed transformations. Herein we describe the application of selenoesters as a new class of acyl donors in enzymatic kinetic resolution of chiral alcohols. A series of selenoes… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
