Expression of TBC1D16 Is Associated with Favorable Prognosis of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Abstract: Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most lethal gynecologic malignancy with high recurrence and poor prognosis duo to the lack of effective biomarkers. TBC1 domain family member 16 (TBC1D16), a GTPase-activating protein, is involved in regulating intracellular trafficking in tumorigenesis and metastasis. However, the clinical significance of TBC1D16 in EOC remains unknown. In the present study, we investigated the expression and prognostic significance of TBC1D16 in EOC and its relationship with the express… Show more

“…The prognostic value of 172 protein biomarkers was evaluated by immunohistochemistry in 174 studies (Table 2). These markers are classified according to their biological functions, mainly including such functional pathways as EMT and metastasis [59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71], inflammation and immunity [72][73][74][75][76][77][78][79][80][81][82][83][84], antioxidant [85,86], angiogenesis [87][88][89][90][91][92][93][94][95][96][97][98][99], cell proliferation, migration and invasion [100][101][102][103][104]…”

“…TBC1D16 belongs to the TBC protein family, and the current understanding of it mainly focuses on its role in different diseases. TBC1D16 is highly expressed in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) (54). Changes in methylation modification of the TBC1D16 gene are associated with the progression and metastasis of multiple types of tumors (55).…”

“…Rab5CD (50)(51)(52)(53)(54)(55)(56)(57)(58) and TBC1D16 (Figure 7E). These results suggest that the effector region QESTIGAAF (amino-acid residues 50-58) of Rab5C is pivotal for inhibiting PFV replication.…”

“…TBC1D15 acts as a GAP of Rab7 in regulation of the lysosomal morphology (34). Aberrant intracellular transport is involved in type 2 diabetes, immune deficiencies and cancer (35),. Besides, correlation analysis indicated a positive correlation with signal molecule synthesis, apoptosis and cell cycle arrest (36,37).…”
