Expression and prognosis analyses of BUB1, BUB1B and BUB3 in human sarcoma

Abstract: Budding Uninhibited By Benzimidazoles are a group of genes encoding proteins that play central roles in spindle checkpoint during mitosis. Improper mitosis may lead to aneuploidy which is found in many types of tumors. As a key mediator in mitosis, the dysregulated expression of BUBs has been proven to be highly associated with various malignancies, such as leukemia, gastric cancer, breast cancer, and liver cancer. However, bioinformatic analysis has not been applied to explore the role of the BUBs in sarcomas… Show more

“…BUB1B in human adenocarcinoma [ 17 ] and lung cancer which indicates worse survival rate and metastasis [ 18 ]. Overexpression of BUB1B has been linked to the movement and recurrence of gastric tumor [ 19 ] including glioblastoma, ductal adenocarcinoma, prostate disease, gastric adenocarcinoma, and hepatocellular carcinoma [ 31 ] as well as many other cancers [ 30 ]. The complement system (C3) is involved in progression of malignancies along with bladder, hepatocellular, and cervical carcinomas.…”

“…BUB3 was upregulated in 79% of gastric cancers, being a proliferation-dependent phenomenon in gastric cancer [ 13 ]. BUB3 levels were reported to be higher in sarcoma samples, and higher expression levels of BUB3 were associated with lower overall and disease-free survival in patients with sarcomas [ 59 ]. High expression of BUB3 was associated with increased mortality in hepatocellular carcinoma [ 60 ].…”

“…Based on PPI network, genes with top 5 highest degree were identified, including cdk1 , cdc20 , bub1 , plk1 , and aurkb. In human clinical studies, cdk1 , cdc20 , bub1 , and plk1 were commonly associated with bone diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and bone-related tumors. − Therefore, these results indicated that aberrant expression of the selected hub genes might be responsible for caudal malformation in this study. Our results highlighted the negative effects of TDCIPP on the skeletal system of fish.…”
