“…PTN expression by PTCs was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. The immunohistochemical findings suggest that PTN is overexpressed by the neoplastic thyroid epithelial cells themselves, primarily in a perinuclear and cytoplasmic localization as reported in other tissues [ 15 16 ]. However, staining for PTN was also observed in the adjacent stromal cells raising the possibility that other cells might also contribute to the elevated PTN measured by ELISA in PTC.…”

“…The cDNA from total RNA were synthesized using with PrimeScript RT Reagent Kit (Takara) from 52 self-pairs of glioma specimens and paratumor tissues. The following previously reported primers were used [14]: for MK, forward primer 5 0 -ACCCACCAGTGCCTTTTGTC-3 0 and reverse primer 5 0 -TAACAAGTATCAGGGTGGGG-3 0 , 153 base pairs (bp); for human PTN, forward primer, 5 0 -ATGTCGTCCCAGC AATATCA-3 0 and reverse primer, 5 0 -TTCTTCTTCTTTGACTCCGC-3 0 , 470 bp; and for human GAPDH, forward primer 5 0 -AAGGGCTCA TGACCACAGTC-3 0 and reverse primer 5 0 -AGGGAGATGCTCAGTGTT GG-3 0 , 570 bp. RT-PCR was performed using ABI Step One Plus (Applied Biosystems, Singapore, Singapore).…”

“…The effects of MY10 should be evaluated in both sexes, since sex differences occur in both innate and adaptive immune responses (Klein and Flanagan, 2016). Furthermore, a difference in the distribution of RPTPβ and its ligand PTN has been observed between male and female mice (Adthapanyawanich et al, 2013).…”
