“…Compared to other similar studies, Wang et al found that the urinary IMI RPF (including 5 neonicotinoids and 3 metabolites) in healthy adults ranged from 0.92 to 167 μg/L (SG-adjusted), with a medium concentration of 11.10 μg/L in Wuhan, China . Mahai et al measured urine samples donated by China’s pregnant women and found that the IMI RPF (4 neonicotinoids and 5 metabolites) varied from 0.20 to 1817 μg/L (SG-adjusted), with a median of 14.10 μg/L . Herein, the median was detected within 6.25–10.75 μg/L during 6 weeks, which was relatively comparable to the findings of the above research.…”

“…28 Mahai et al measured urine samples donated by China's pregnant women and found that the IMI RPF (4 neonicotinoids and 5 metabolites) varied from 0.20 to 1817 μg/L (SG-adjusted), with a median of 14.10 μg/L. 29 Herein, the median was detected within 6.25−10.75 μg/L during 6 weeks, which was relatively comparable to the findings of the above research. Considering that the detected concentrations of the metabolites in these biomonitoring-based studies were all an order of magnitude higher than the parent compound, the relatively low maximum value of the total neonicotinoids in this experiment may stem from the fact that we did not include the detection of metabolites.…”

“…Some studies have reported urinary concentrations of p-NEOs and m-NEOs in pregnant women. ,, The concentrations of most NEOs determined in these studies were somewhat higher than those measured in MS samples in this work, although this was not true for IMI. Previous studies have proven that renal elimination is the major route for the excretion of NEOs in humans, , with 19–55% of NEOs being excreted within 24 h. , Therefore, urinary concentrations of NEOs are often higher than those measured in serum.…”
