Exposing the dark sector with future Z factories

Abstract: We investigate the prospects of searching dark sector models via exotic Z-boson decay at future e þ e − colliders with Giga Z and Tera Z options. Four general categories of dark sector models, Higgs portal dark matter, vector-portal dark matter, inelastic dark matter, and axionlike particles, are considered. Focusing on channels motivated by the dark sector models, we carry out a model-independent study of the sensitivities of Z factories in probing exotic decays. The limits on branching ratios of the exotic Z… Show more

“…The values of corresponding to the sensitivity S/ √ B = 2 are summarized in tables 3, 4 and 5. The b-tagging efficiency, c quark mis-tagging rate and light quark mis-tagging rate are conservatively assumed to be 0.8, 0.09 and 0.01 [31,52], respectively. The τ -tagging efficiency and the probability of a jet faked as τ are assumed to be 0.6 and 0.02 [31,53], respectively.…”
