This study aimed to investigate the interrelationships among high school students’ science and mathematics achievement, attitudes towards STEM and gender. The participants of the study were 446 public high school students (240 females, 206 males) from two cities in Turkey. They were 10th, 11th, and 12th grade level students selected from two different kinds of schools which are Anatolian Religious High School and Anatolian High School. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to determine the relationships among the variables of the study. It was found that mathematics achievement and science achievement are significantly and positively associated with students’ mathematics attitudes, and science attitudes, but negatively related to students’ attitudes towards engineering and technology. On the other hand, 21st-century skills were not found to be significantly associated with both mathematics achievement and science achievement. The results also indicated that female students had higher mathematics and science achievement scores than male students. However, male students had more interest in engineering departments. The results of the study also imply the importance of the indirect effect of attitudes towards STEM on the relationship between students’ achievement and gender.

For distance teaching, if the teacher can obtain the predicted scores that students may obtain in the final exam at this time, the students whose predicted scores do not meet the standard can be found. Teachers can strengthen the teaching of this type of students in the teaching process, which will greatly improve the overall teaching efficiency of teachers. The target of this research is the students of the course of the “Introduction to Computers Science” at Open University of Kaohsiung. This course is a distance teaching based on online teaching, and the questionnaire and final test are also completed on line. A total of 95 students filled out the questionnaire online, accounting for 77.24% of the electives. This study aims to assess the measurement of students’ pre-learning computer experience, software operation ability, learning motivation, and computer attitude, and analyze their relationship with the performance of subsequent distance teaching on the course of the “Introduction to Computers Science”, and find a multiple regression model to predict student performance. It was found that a multiple linear regression model combining 7 independent variables was statistically significantly related to the final test scores.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisa sejauh mana perbandingan siswa laki-laki dan perempuan dalam menyikapi persoalan ilmiah dan membandingkannya dengan data sementara sebelumnya yang didapatkan oleh peneliti. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Negeri di Kabupaten Kerinci. Penelitian ini melibatkan 50 siswa sebagai responden yang terdiri dari 25 siswa laki-laki dan 25 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis Rasch untuk menelaah skala pengukuran, keadaan umum siswa, dan keadaan spesifik antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skala yang disusun dan responden yang dipilih dalam pengukuran sesuai dengan tuntutan Rasch model. Kemudian sikap ilmiah siswa secara umum baik laki-laki dan perempuan menunjukkan rata-rata yang lebih tinggi dari rata-rata item pengukuran dengan menggunakan Rasch model. Dalam satuan Logits Sikap ilmiah perempuan menunjukkan 1,28 dan Laki-laki 1,26. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara sikap ilmiah laki-laki dan perempuan. This study aims to describe and analyze the extent to which male and female students compare in addressing scientific issues and compare them with the previous provisional data obtained by the researcher. This research is descriptive quantitative research. This research was conducted in one of the public high schools in Kerinci Regency. This study involved 50 students as respondents consisting of 25 male and 25 female students. This study uses a Rasch analysis approach to examine the measurement scale, students' general condition, and the specific circumstances between male and female students. The results showed that the scale was compiled, and the respondents selected in the measurement were by the demands of the Rasch model. Then the general scientific attitude of students, both boys and girls, showed a higher average than the average of the measurement items using the Rasch model. In Logits, the scientific attitude of the female is 1.28, and the male is 1.26. The results of the study show that there is no significant difference between the scientific attitudes of men and women.
