“…comparable patients following standard of care. This design allows etiologic results without confounders, as requested by the Committee on Evaluating Clinical Applications of Telemedicine [ 22 ], in contrast to the majority of the literature in Telemedicine which is based on observational studies [ 23 25 ]. This may explain why the possible contribution of telemedicine in the improvement of medical follow-up is currently not clear [ 26 , 27 ].…”

“…Usage, considered important as higher training intensity is related to better outcome both in face-to-face rehabilitation and remote training [1922], was studied for stroke, CLBP and COPD. For stroke the ICT program is significantly more effective than the control group who were residents in the municipalities not served by “kiosks” although there was a large variability between individual patients.…”

“…We concentrate on patient satisfaction for two primary reasons. First, patient satisfaction is considered an important component of the quality of care a patient receives [ 28 , 29 ] and is linked to improved treatment adherence and clinical outcomes [ 26 , 30 ]. Second, existing studies of patient satisfaction have been criticized for their lack of conceptual unity and theoretical development [ 6 ], particularly within the context of telemedicine [ 31 , 32 ].…”
