Exploring the doubly charged Higgs boson of the left-right symmetric model using vector boson fusionlike events at the LHC

Abstract: This paper studies the pair production of the doubly charged Higgs boson of the left-right symmetric models using multilepton final state in the vector boson fusion (VBF)-like processes. The study is performed in the framework consistent with the model's correction to the standard model ρEW parameter. VBF topological cuts, number of leptons in the final state and pT cuts on the leptons are found to be effective in suppressing the background. Significant mass reach can be achieved for exclusion/discovery of the… Show more

“…These models may wash out the lepton asymmetry generated by the right-handed neutrino decays. (iii) The interactions of the right-handed triplet Higgs scalars ∆ R [24][25][26][27] can also affect the lepton asymmetry generated by other mechanisms. (iv) The left-handed triplet Higgs scalars ∆ L can generate a lepton asymmetry and also a neutrino mass, after the right-handed neutrinos decay [28][29][30][31][32].…”

“…In contrast, pair production of Δ AEAE for the ΔM > 0 case mentioned above will be sensitive to this study if one lepton is lost or mistagged, but given the range of M Δ AEAE we are interested in, the occurrence of such events is very unlikely. This is because the decay of Δ AEAE leads to appreciably energetic leptons [50], which has high tagging efficiency.…”
