Exploring novel ligands with strong electron delocalization for high-performance blue CsPbBr3 perovskite nanoplatelets

Abstract: Lewis bases with strong electron delocalization can affect the chemical equilibrium of the system. Therefore, the R-NH3+ and R–C≡C–COO− prefer to coordinate with NPLs, passivating the surface defects and improving the stability of crystals.

“…The introduction of VA and LCT results in another new peak at ≈400 eV that is close to the signal of nonpolar amine species (─NH 2 ). [ 32,33 ] According to the above XPS and FTIR, we inferred that the protonated ─NH 3 + group of DMPBr 2 form a strong hydrogen bond with VA and LCT in form of ─NH 2 ⋯H⋯O. Due to the high electronegativity of O atom, the active H atom prefers to lean the O atom.…”

“…The pristine perovskite (w/0) exhibits two peaks located at 138.30 and 143.18 eV, corresponding to Pb 4f 7/2 and Pb 4f 5/2 , respectively. [ 32 ] With the position of Pb 4f 5/2 as reference, the peak shift to lower binding energy by 0.07, 0.18, and 0.22 eV when introducing VA, LCT and VA/LCT, respectively. The reduced binding energy is attributed to the carboxylic group of VA and the zwitterionic group of LCT combining with Pb 2+ ions.…”

“…28 The redistribution of electrons among Pb, Br, and O atoms leads to a strong interaction between them, thus improving the binding energy between ligands and NPLs. 12,28 Photodetectors based on two types of NPLs have been constructed, and the schematic structure and optical images of the photodetector are shown in Figure 5a. The two types of NPL materials were spin-coated onto glass substrates, followed by the deposition of a crossbar silver (Ag) electrode with a spacing of 50 μm.…”

“…Therefore, encapsulation is carried out using polymers and porous materials such as SiO 2 , ZrO 2 , TiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , and others, 139 core-shell materials, 140,141 metal-organic frameworks 142 and inorganic salts. 143 Recently, Wen et al 144 introduced 2-butynoic acid (BtA), phenylpropiolic acid (PA) and 2-pentynoic acid (PtA) ligands for post-treatment of CsPbBr 3 nanoplatelets. These ligands possess alkynyl group (R-CC-) which shows strong delocalisation effect.…”
