Exploring a Novel Agricultural Subsidy Model with Sustainable Development: A Chinese Agribusiness in Liaoning Province

Abstract: Abstract:To improve the incomes of farmers in China, the Chinese government is paying increased attention to the reform of its agricultural subsidy policy. However, the effectiveness of the subsidy remains insufficient and thus fails to encourage farmers to cultivate their land and develop sustainability. “…The suitability model for ice-snow tourist destinations associates spatial attribute data and non-spatial attribute data based on graphic data and, therefore, quantitatively calculates spatial data, extracts an evaluation factor, and superimposes weighted elements. The process of spatial analysis to be studied primarily includes attribute associations, a spatial single-factor analysis, and a comprehensive superposition analysis [16]. That is, the dataset based on different factors is unified to the same level, and weights are assigned to the adaptive region to ensure that the process is scientific and objective [17].…”

Moreover, the current studies indicate that the government plays a key role in sustainable development, regardless of industry [3,75]. In other words, the practices of agribusinesses are influenced by the attitudes and motivations of the government.…”

“…Thus, the results show that the government has a direct effect on the relationship between agribusinesses and their customers under stakeholder theory. In addition, China's government has adopted a planned economy, thus several agribusinesses also play the role of "Gong Xiao She" in northern China and act as a bridge to link farmers, the market and the government [3]. For this reason, in northern China, customers and agribusiness expect the government to improve the related policies and regulations to certify sustainable food and guarantee quality and health.…”

“…As a result of the United Nation announcing the 2030 sustainable development (SD) goals, an increasing number of countries are striving to accomplish these goals. Thus, the Chinese government declared the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" to lead enterprises in developing sustainability [1]. Although large-scale enterprises have abundant resources for adhering to the sustainability policies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) encounter difficulty in pursuing such policies due to resource constraints.…”
