Abstract:Char obtained from the Great Canadian Oil Sands (GCOS) Corporation, Fort McMurray, Alberta, was burned in the Canadian Combustion Research Laboratory (CCRL) pilot-scale research boiler. When the boiler was equipped with a large, refractory-lined bottom, it
duplicated the amount of carbon in fly,ash from the steam generators which burn char at the GCOS plant. This indicates that the research boiler can be used to predict the performance of chars in operating steam generators
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
