Exploration of the Mechanism of the Control of Coccidiosis in Chickens Based on Network Pharmacology and Molecular Docking With the Addition of Modified Gegen Qinlian Decoction

Abstract: Gegen Qinlian Decoction is a long-established Chinese herbal compound for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery, while Magnolia officinalis has been demonstrated to have some anthelmintic activity. The preliminary screening of this study showed that the addition of Modified Gegen Qinlian Decoction has some effective on the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in chickens. However, the mechanism of its treatment of chicken coccidiosis is not clear. The network pharmacology study was based on the screening … Show more

“…Importantly, GQD could treat cecum lesions and bloody diarrhea in chickens infected with Eimeria tenella to improve growth performance via the targets SRC, STAT, and PPARG [187]. In a comparative pharmacokinetic study, the absorption of Puerarin, Wogonin, and Daidzein increased in the E. coli infective diarrhea minipig model compared to the control group.…”

“…Network pharmacology uses extensive databases to systematically determine the effects and mechanisms of traditional medicine prescriptions in treating complex diseases [ 13 ]. This method enables broad predictions of potential mechanisms of action, corresponding component targets and disease targets for treating disease [ 14 ].…”

“…Traditional Chinese medicine employs multiple compounds with multiple targets to improve efficacy compared to the use of single-target drugs [ 27 , 28 ]. Network pharmacology can be used to construct a compound-protein/gene-disease network to predict complex drug-target interactions [ 29 , 30 ], and has been widely used in research on viruses [ 31 ], bacteria [ 32 ] and parasites [ 33 ].…”
