Experimental work on improving the efficiency of storm networks using a new galley design filter bucket.

Abstract: Storm networks, as with all urban infrastructure elements, are important to life in society. One of the most important problems facing such networks is the clogging of pipes due to sediment inlet into the sewage systems, which can cause flooding during heavy rain. This study aims to improve the efficiency of storm networks by using a new filter. In this study, a model of a network of pipes was built up to simulate rain flow over a street of two lanes. The first lane contained a filter and the second lane conta… Show more

“…As an alternate supply, treated wastewater can be utilized for irrigation to meet agricultural water needs and for artificial recharge of aquifers to slow the depletion of groundwater. Many countries, such as the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Mexico, France, Brazil, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, China, Cyprus, and India, use such methods [14][15][16][17][18][19]. Artificial water recharge is one way to sustainably manage the decline of groundwater levels in nations like Iraq, which are located in arid regions [20][21][22][23][24][25].…”

“…The Middle East represents one of the area's most susceptible to the impacts of climate change as a result of the arid and semi-arid regions and its impact is evident in countries such as Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sudan and Syria [1][2][3][4]. Climate change influence appears on the systems of the environment and humanity [5,6], involving the risks associated with heat stress, storms and heavy rain, inland and flooding, dryness, scarce water supplies, and agriculture and food security [7,8]. A consequence of the rising anthropogenic, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which are mostly due to economic and population expansion.…”
