To understand this effect on RECC members, Frank et al conducted cyclic loading tests on RC and RECC cantilever beams under three deformation histories—federal emergency management agency (FEMA) deformation history, and initial small pulse (2–2.5% drift) or large pulse (5.5–7% drift) followed by FEMA deformation history.
