Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties of Amorphous Metallic Fiber-Reinforced Concrete

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of fresh concrete and the mechanical properties of hardened concrete with incorporation of amorphous metallic fiber into high strength concrete. Based on the experimental results, the slump decreases as the content of amorphous metallic fiber concrete increases, and it can be ensured that the optimum workability is obtained when 0.3% of concrete volume fraction in mixing is mixed regardless of the length of the steel fiber. In addition, the incorp… Show more

“…Recently, research on cement composites reinforced with amorphous metallic fibers (AMFs) possessing excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance has been attracting significant attention [21][22][23][24][25]. AMFs are known to be effective in improving the mechanical properties of mortar and concrete [22,24] and reducing plastic shrinkage cracks in cement composites [25].…”

“…AMFs are known to be effective in improving the mechanical properties of mortar and concrete [22,24] and reducing plastic shrinkage cracks in cement composites [25]. Most existing studies employing AMFs [21][22][23][24] have 2 of 10 used natural aggregates, and studies on AMF-reinforced cement composites with steel slag aggregates are scarce. To our best knowledge, there has been no study that used a mixture of blast furnace slag aggregate and ferronickel slag aggregate.…”

(Lee and Kwon, 2023).…”
