Experimental study on the correlation between hill direct seeding rate and field seedling rate of typical rice varieties in cold areas

Abstract: In order to examine the relationship between the seeding rate of a hill-direct-seeding machine and seedling rate in field, six rice varieties typical for cold areas were selected to conduct the indoor germination tests and field seedling experiment using a hill-direct-seeding machine. Indoor germination and field seedling tests were performed to study the correlation among the mechanical precision seeding process, machine seeding rate and field seedling rate. The results showed that the indoor germination rate… Show more

“…In this case, the radius is 47 mm when the polar angle of the point on the curve is 0 • , and the radius is 56 mm when the polar angle is 90 • . According to Equation (7), the track curve BC in the adjusting mechanism can be represented as follows: r = exp(θ + 34.5)/8.96 (9) where, r is the polar radius of the point on the curve BC (mm); θ is the polar angle of the point on curve BC ( • ).…”

“…China's rice output ranks first in the world, with a total rice output of over 200 million tons [4,5]. Rice is cultivated in a quarter of the arable land in China and supports more than half of its population [6][7][8]. Traditional rice planting involves many steps such as raising and transplanting seedlings [9].…”

“…Heilongjiang Province, the largest Japonica rice production base in China, is located in northeast China, with low temperature and large difference between day and night. 4 In this region, seeds are sown directly in the field without plastic film covering, which greatly increases the risk of exposure to chilling stress compared with transplanting rice. The chilling stress is known to inhibit many physiological and metabolic processes 5 and generate large amounts of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in plant cells that trigger lipid peroxidation in membranes.…”

“…Temperature and light resources in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River are abundant in one season but scarce in two others, with regional differences [9][10][11]. Varieties of directseeded rice differ in terms of temperature and light sensitivity and growth characteristics, resulting in varying adaptability to temperature and light during the late season [12][13][14]. The appropriate sowing date of the different varieties may fundamentally affect their characteristics.…”
