Experimental study on the behavior of a transplanted vascular pedicle

Abstract: The transparent chamber technique of the hamster cheek pouch was utilized to observe the behavior of a transplanted vascular pedicle within a relatively adverse environment. Observations included direct visualization with intravital microscopy, histology, scanning electron microscopy, and alkaline phosphatase staining for vascular endothelium. The results supported the phenomenon of vascular sprouting from the transplanted vascular pedicle.
