Abstract:This paper describes the flow characteristics around a half-buried pipeline exposed to different current conditions by flume experiment. Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV) technique was used in the experiment to reveal the flow structure. The experiment results indicate that the hydrodynamic parameters, including average kinetic energy, vorticities, Reynolds shear stress, and kinetic turbulence energy, increased with the Renolds numbers. Furthermore, it is found that the vortex at the upstream side of the half… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
