Experimental study of the heat transport processes in dusty plasma fluid

Abstract: The results are given of an experimental investigation of heat transport processes in fluid dusty structures in rf-discharge plasmas under different conditions: for discharge in argon, and for discharge in air under an action of electron beam. The analysis of steady-state and unsteady-state heat transfer is used to obtain the coefficients of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity under the assumption that the observed heat transport is associated with a thermal conduction in the dusty component of plasma… Show more

“…Note that this tendency is contradictory with that given by the analytical model in [14], which predicts an increase of λ with increase of damping rate and was confirmed by their experiment [14]. However, this model is based on an empirical relation between diffusion and heat conduction coefficients obtained by fitting simulation results for threedimensional (3D) simple liquid without damping, and their experiment was also performed in a 3D complex plasma liquid [14]. Whereas in our simulation we study 2D systems covering both liquid and solid states and/or with a liquid-solid mixture phase.…”

“…First results on the measurements of thermal conductivity for dust component in complex plasma were reported in [16][17][18]. Namely, in [16] the thermal conductivity in 2D crystalline lattices was studied.…”
