Concrete structures close to seawater cannot be avoided in the construction of current facilities and infrastructure. Concrete submerged in seawater will reduce its strength and increase the corrosion rate of reinforcing steel. With Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Sheet (GFRP-S) technology, it is possible to increase the strength of concrete and protect reinforcing steel from the effects of seawater corrosion. Several laboratory studies were carried out on GFRP-S coating as an addition and protection against seawater environmental conditions. However, this research is limited by time and equipment, so it is necessary to carry out a finite element analysis. This modeling uses Abaqus CAE 2017 software. The Abaqus modeling results are then validated with laboratory research to find out what percentage of deviations occur. After optimization, several variables were added to determine the load capacity under different conditions. Some additional research variables are the length of immersion of 12, 24, and 48 months. Apart from the period of time, additional variations were made with the thickness of GFRP-S, which was originally only 1.3 mm, increased to 1.5 mm and 1.8 mm. The results obtained were that the immersion time of 12 months decreased the load capacity by 11.21%, the decrease in the immersion time of 24 months was 14.34%, and the decrease in the immersion time of 48 months was 17.63%. The addition of GFRP-S with a thickness of 2 mm increases capacity by 0.89% and the addition of 5 mm GFRP-S increases capacity by 3.74%. This very significant reduction resulted in the beam being recommended for additional repairs or strengthening.

Plastic waste in Indonesia in 2020-2021 occupies the second largest position in terms of the amount of accumulated waste, namely 17.15% and 15.54% after the type of food waste. Plastic is difficult to degrade or is difficult to decompose in the soil. Plastic dumped into the sea is dangerous. In 2020, Physeter Macrocephalus (protected whale) was found to have died from ingesting plastic and not digesting it properly. Replacing/modifying materials is an alternative to help overcome waste environmental problems in the construction sector. Most of the research using waste is the manufacture of concrete with certain compressive strength criteria. As a form of support for green building, research utilizes plastic waste to replace some of the fine aggregate in the manufacture of paving blocks. This study reviewed the strength class of paving block Grade B or Min. 17 MPa, where fine aggregate is replaced by plastic waste up to 40%. Plastic waste is cleaned and cut into small pieces. The results showed that the replacement of fine aggregate with plastic waste up to 30% still produced Grade B or Min. 17 MPa.

There has been no calculation of torque capacity using a specific code on SFRC beams. Therefore, this paper describes efforts to compare capacity analysis studies of SFRC beams with ACI Code 318-19 design, CSA A23.3:19, SNiP, Eurocode 2, and modification of ACI Code 318-19. A total of 85 specimens were adopted from 16 previous study groups, and the torsional strength was compared with the proposed equation by modifying and applying it to ACI code 318-19. The proposed formula, by adding the effect of steel fiber, increases the contribution of steel fiber to the longitudinal and transverse reinforcement. After the torsional strength of the proposed formula is obtained, it is compared with the four design codes of torsional strength analysis without the influence of steel fiber to determine the accuracy of the prediction of torsional strength, which is close to the results of experimental testing. From the results presented, each strength design prediction varies significantly in mean ratio, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation. Comparing the five concluded that the design obtained using the modified design code ACI 318-19 and CSA A23.3:19 provides better accuracy. The results of Eurocode 2 provide an average ratio of 1.62, the largest among the others.
