Experimental Study of a Novel Cross-Layer Traffic Optimization Technique for Improving Throughput in Metro Ethernet/WDM Networks
Abstract: In metro Ethernet/WDM networks, it remains a challenge on how to improve performance through cross-layer traffic optimization. We experimentally study how to intelligently use L2 forwarding or L1 switching by monitoring the output queue size.
