Experimental Study and Correlation Models of the Density and Viscosity of 2-Methoxy-2-methylpropane with n-propanol

Abstract: Densities (r) and viscosities (h) of the binary systems 2-Methoxy-2-methylpropane with n-propanol were measured at temperatures 288.15, 293.15, 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15 K and atmospheric pressure, over the whole composition range. Belda, Herraez, Emmerling et al. and Gonzalez-Olmos-Iglesias models were used to correlate the densities of binary mixtures. The Mchaweh-Nasrifar-Mashfeghian, Hankinson-Thomson, Yamada-Gunn and Reid et al. models were used to estimate the liquid density of the binary mixtures. Visco… Show more

“…The obtained sample was analyzed in a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer (Bruker Avance 3 HD 400 MHz NMR equipped with a cryogenic probe). The acquired 1 H, 13 C, and 19 F NMR spectra confirmed that the crystalline solid phase was pure LiFSI (x MTBE < 1 × 10 −5 mol mol −1 , estimated from the limit of detection).…”

“…Instead, depending on the system load, the pressure may vary within wide limits. Under these conditions, according to the relationship (15) the density will be given by the relationship: Figure 4 graphically shows the functions ρt(t) and ρp(P) defined by relationships (14), (15) and (16). According to Newton's law, the tangential forces that take between two adjacent fluid layers dz which travel at a relative speed dwx are proportional to the gradient of the speed of the layers and the contact surface: (17) Where: dA represents the elementary surface of the contact layer, dwx/dz speed gradient, and η the coefficient of proportionality, called also dynamic viscosity.…”

“…The study of real fluid flow is generally difficult to address by complete theoretical methods, due to the special complications caused by a number of disturbing factors such as fluid friction (viscosity), turbulence, driving solid particles, presence of internal heat sources etc. The knowledge of fundamental properties behavior in a system can help us understand the nature of molecular interactions and so we can determine other thermodynamic properties [4], [5], [16], [17]. Temperature and density are factors that affect the treated metals, which have an important influence on the macroscopic mechanical properties and the stability of materials [6], [7].…”
