Experimental Studies on the Phase Separation Behavior of Molten Benzenesulfonate-Modified PET/PA6 Blends

Abstract: In this work, nylon 6 (PA6) and cationic dyeable polyester (CDP) modified with benzenesulfonate groups were reactively blended in a twin-screw extruder. The well-mixed CDP/PA6 blends were re-molten and statically kept for various amounts of time. The morphology evolution caused by phase separation was observed by a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and an atomic force microscopy-infrared (AFM-IR) technique.
