Experimental studies on the effects of bolt parameters on the bearing characteristics of reinforced rock

Abstract: Roadways supported by bolts contain support structures that are built into the rock surrounding the roadway, referred to as reinforced rocks in this paper. Using physical model simulation, the paper investigates the bearing characteristics of the reinforced rock under different bolt parameters with incrementally increased load. The experimental results show that the stress at the measurement point inside the structure varies with the kinetic pressure. The stress increases slowly as the load is initially applie… Show more

“…Garnered from the simulation analysis in Section 2, the roadway of Panel 11-101 had large deformations and could not be used normally; hence, bolt support was used for roadway maintenance. Bolt support can control the deformation and the failure of the surrounding rocks and maintain the integrity to the maximum in the anchor zone, thereby enhancing the strength and stability of the surrounding rocks [27,28]. Figure 5 shows a mechanical model of fractured rock with a bolt support.…”

“…As a simple active support method, the bolt-supporting technology has been widely studied and applied in various mine roadway support [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]. During the service life of the bolt-supported roadway, the real-time and accurate monitoring of its working conditions is of great significance to the normal maintenance of the roadway and the safe production of the mine.…”
