“…In 2012, BP did its first DAS VSP field trial in onshore Milne Point Field, Alaska, where the DAS data was compared to the geophone data at the same well (Li et al, 2012). The results from the Mars Field trial demonstrated the great potential of DAS VSP over traditional wireline VSP in both image coverage and image quality near/under salt (Wong et al, 2015;Zhan et al, 2015). In 2013, we entered into an agreement with our coowner Shell to use their 3D DAS VSP data acquired in the Shell operated Mars Field in Gulf of Mexico.…”
