Experimental investigations on the hydrodynamics of a multi-body floating aquaculture platform exposed to sloping seabed environment

Abstract: The coastal area near islands has become a key area for aquaculture because of the long offshore distance and suitable wave conditions. There is a topographic change near the islands, and the reflected waves generated by the topography modify the wave field in the aquaculture area, which may cause structural damage to the offshore net cage. Most studies on the hydrodynamic characteristics of aquaculture structures do not consider the effects of topography. Therefore, we investigated the hydrodynamic characteri… Show more

“…In the shallow seas, the structure and geoacoustic parameters of the seabed significantly affect underwater acoustic propagation (Guo et al, 2017;Yu et al, 2022). The geoacoustic parameters in each seabed layer, such as sound speeds, density and attenuations, all have significant effects on the underwater acoustic field prediction, the sonar performance prediction, the underwater acoustic detection and the underwater acoustic communication (Zhang et al, 2022;Zhao et al, 2022). Therefore, the acquisition of geoacoustic parameters is particularly important in shallow sea (Zhang et al, 2019;Yang et al, 2020).…”
