“…Experimental results showed that the blending of CTL/gasoline resulted in a higher premixed combustion ratio (PCR) and reduced NOx and particulate emissions. Zhang et al , conducted experimental studies on the combustion and emission characteristics of CTL/gasoline and CTL/ n -butanol dual-fuel modes. The results showed that the RCCI using CTL as the ignition fuel had a shorter combustion duration (CD), a 2% increase in the indicated thermal efficiency (ITE), and the peak pressure rise rate (PPRR) and NOx emissions were reduced by 46.1 and 20.1%, respectively.…”

“…The literature review presented above shows that the fuel characteristics and injection strategies significantly affect the combustion and emission characteristics of the RCCI combustion mode. Previous studies of our research group have shown that CTL with high CN as the ignition fuel of RCCI combustion mode is conducive to improving the thermal efficiency of the engine. However, the use of CTL as a pilot fuel with a two-stage injection strategy in dual-fuel engines is expected to further improve the thermal efficiency of the engine, thus expanding the operating range of the RCCI combustion mode. But related research has been reported.…”

“…The synthesis technology is relatively mature and has been widely used in practice. , CTL fuel produced by the Fischer–Tropsch synthesis is a high-quality and promising alternative fuel. , Compared with the conventional petrodiesel fuel, it has a higher cetane number (CN), contains fewer heavy distillation components, and can be fused with diesel fuel in any proportion. Additionally, CTL fuel has lower nitrogen, sulfur, and aromatic hydrocarbon content, higher calorific value, and a low freezing point; thus, it exhibits higher volatility, higher fuel reactivity, and combustion stability. Research on CTL fuel has focused on its combustion and emission characteristics. Sun et al showed that CTL fuel has a higher reactivity that shortens the ignition delay (ID) period; while the application of CTL fuel reduces NO x emissions, it also results in higher particulate matter (PM) emissions compared to diesel fuel.…”

“…In recent years, butanol has been widely studied as a liquid alternative fuel with great development potential. Butanol is an alcohol fuel with four C atoms, and its molecular formula is C 4 H 9 OH. As a second-generation biofuel, butanol has the advantages such as high energy density, low volatility, low corrosiveness, and good miscibility with diesel and gasoline, making it a potential alternative fuel. , At the same time, with the continuous development of microbial fermentation technology, the manufacturing process of biobutanol based on renewable raw materials has gradually matured.…”
