Preservatives in eye drops, while not always necessary, can lead to undesirable effects. Developing preservative-free solutions demands special measures for sterility, utilizing multidose or monodose primary packaging. This review explores the merits and drawbacks of these packaging types. A literature search on PubMed, Google Scholar, and EMBASE until December 2023, using MESH terms, yielded 28 studies on multidose ampoules and 24 on monodose packaging. Heterogeneous data revealed advantages and disadvantages concerning patient use and manufacturing. Chronologically presenting the development of eye drop packaging, this study finds Droptainer® simple but unable to maintain sterility. Comod®, 3K®, ABAK®, Novelia®, and Ophthalmic Squeeze Dispenser show high sterility probability, with Comod® and ABAK® having a contamination risk. Novelia® excels with long-term sterility and better control. Ophthalmic Squeeze Dispenser, FDA-approved, boasts a smaller carbon footprint. Unit-dose systems preserve sterility and offer design flexibility. Proposing an alternative, blister technology maintains sterility, is convenient and safe, and holds promise for recycling. This comprehensive assessment aids in understanding the evolving landscape of eye drop packaging, emphasizing the importance of sterility, convenience, and environmental impact.

Concrete typically emerges as the superior choice in terms of strength, adaptability, longevity, noise reduction, energy efficiency, and it additionally possesses the advantage of being fully recyclable. The excessive consumption of natural resources such as sand in traditional concrete production poses environmental concerns and makes concrete production as a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. By using waste glass powder as a partial substitute for fine aggregate, the study explores the potential to lower the carbon footprint of concrete, to reduce the reliance on virgin materials, minimize waste generation, and promote sustainable practices in the construction sector and finally contributing to climate change mitigation and environmental stewardship. Also, it can offer cost savings, as waste glass is often readily available at low cost, reducing the dependence on expensive virgin materials. This article assesses the workability, durability, compressive, flexural, and tensile strength of concrete when waste glass powder is used as a partial substitute for fine aggregate. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive summary of the current state of knowledge on this topic, evaluating the outcomes of previous studies, methodologies, and limitations. This review paper aids in understanding the progress made in this field and identifying areas that require further investigation. Overall, preparing a review paper on the performance of waste glass powder as a partial substitution of fine aggregate in concrete consolidates existing knowledge, evaluates performance, identifies benefits, challenges, and guides future research.

Concrete waste generated from construction and demolition is a major problem generated in large quantities. The use of waste concrete as a substitute for conventional aggregate materials is a way to reduce waste generated from construction and sample testing and reduce exploration of natural materials, which have an impact on the environment and damage natural. Waste concrete can be recycled and can be used for various purposes. The use of coarse aggregate ranges from 70 to 80% in concrete mixes so the reuse of recycled concrete coarse aggregate has been widely reported, but few studies have focused on recycling and extracting value from concrete grains. The laboratory test method used several parameters to determine the physical properties of the concrete mixture and the characteristics of the compressive strength of cube concrete 150 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm with a sample size of 12 samples for 0%, and 12 samples for 100% recycled aggregate. The compressive strength of concrete was reviewed 3 and 28 days after treatment according to SNI. The compressive strength of recycled concrete aggregates increased by 11.54% at the age of 3 days and decreased by 27.64% at the age of 28 days.
