“…The best performance of combustion is achieved with GPI plus EDI, and the indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP) increases by 2% under light load compared with other dual-injection strategies. Furthermore, Kang et al 30 proposed a new injection mode (GDI plus EDI), finding that the new injection strategy, which combines GDI and EDI, can further expand engine load compared with the conventional gasoline plus ethanol combination, including GDI plus EPI and EPI plus GDI, and the dual-fuel dual-direct injection mode can enhance brake mean effective pressure (BMEP) and thermal efficiency simultaneously. In addition, when the mass flow rates of ethanol and gasoline are 25% and 75%, respectively, the dual-fuel dual-direct injection strategy can help achieve the best performance.…”
