Experimental Investigation on Chemical Grouting in a Permeated Fracture Replica with Different Roughness

Abstract: This paper presents an experimental investigation on chemical grouting in a permeated fracture replica considering its roughness. Tests of grouting with flowing water in the fracture replica were carried out under different Bardon’s standard roughness profiles. The interactions between influential factors were considered and an experimental platform for grouting in rough fractures with flowing water was established. The effect of chemical grouting in fractures with flowing water was investigated using orthogon… Show more

“…Different approaches have been used, including experimental investigations, theoretical models, and numerical simulations. Papers [1][2][3][4][5] are related to concrete material, from papers [6][7][8][9][10][11][12] to rocks. Other contributions investigate the fracture behavior of functionally graded materials [13], glass [14], laminate composites [15], refractories [16], and soft matter [17].…”

“…e optimization of the ratio of grouting filling materials can not only improve the filling quality but also reduce the filling cost and bring great economic benefits to the coal mine. However, there are few studies on the ratio of separation grouting filling materials in coal mines in China, and the design of the ratio of separation grouting filling materials is relatively random, lacking certain scientific basis [26]. Orthogonal experiment is a scientific method to study and deal with multiple factors, and it has the advantages of "uniform dispersion and homogeneous comparison" and can obtain better results with fewer test times [27].…”

“…On the one hand, cracks in the coal seam can serve as slurry flow channels to reduce slurry diffusion resistance. On the other hand, because of the weakening effect of cracks on the strength of coal, the coal is more likely to split under grouting pressure, which is conducive to slurry diffusion (Gothall and Stille 2009;Jin et al 2019;Jiang et al 2018;Deng et al 2018;Xiao et al 2017). Therefore, cracks in the coal seam and their distribution characteristics have an important influence on the grouting effect.…”
