Experimental investigation of the residues produced in the136Xe+Pband124

Abstract: The nuclide cross sections and the longitudinal velocity distributions of residues produced in the reactions of 136 Xe and 124 Xe at 1 A GeV in a lead target were measured at the highresolution magnetic spectrometer, the Fragment Separator (FRS) of GSI. The data cover a broad range of isotopes of the elements between Z = 3 and Z = 56 for 136 Xe and between Z = 5 and Z = 55 for 124 Xe, reaching down to cross sections of a few microbarns. The velocity distributions exhibit a Gaussian shape for masses above … Show more

“…Performing a simple test, decreasing the default potential depth in ABRABLA07 [7] from 47. 4 MeV to 40 MeV, we find no significant influence of that parameter on the ability of ABRABLA07 mass number [6,26,[29][30][31][32], and (blue) bold crosses represent data from Ref. [26,31,33,34] for isotopes that have a larger neutron separation energy than proton separation energy.…”

“…To do that we use data from Refs. [6,26,[29][30][31][32][33][34], as summarized in Table II, and perform ABRABLA07 calculations with f EE between 0.5 and 4 in intervals of 0.1. With the requirements of beam energies above 100 AMeV and data available in tabulated form, we used all to our knowledge published 1pxn removal data available.…”

“…They represent the fragmentation of two light nuclei ( 56 Fe [54], 86 Kr [24]) and a medium-heavy nucleus ( 136 Xe [56]). These experiments cover a broad mass range: residues have been observed from the vicinity of the projectile down to elements lighter than neon.…”
