Experimental Investigation of Rotor-Stator Interaction in a Centrifugal Pump With Several Vaned Diffusers

Abstract: This paper describes an experimental investigation of rotor-stator interaction in a centrifugal pump with several vaned diffusers. Steady and unsteady diffuser vane pressure measurements were made for a two-dimensional test impeller. Unsteady impeller blade pressure measurements were made for a second two-dimensional impeller with blade number and blade geometry identical to the two-dimensional impeller used for the diffuser vane pressure measurements. The experiments were conducted for different flow coeffici… Show more

“…One of the flow phenomena that cause this unsteady hydraulic force is the interaction between a rotating blade and a stator vane [3][4][5][6]. It causes the unsteady hydraulic forces in the blade passing frequency and its higher harmonic frequencies.…”

“…Pressure pulsation coefficient is defined as h à = p=(r 3 g 3 U The model pump frequency domain of the original blade is somewhat similar to other analyses for a pump with a diffuser. [23][24][25] The frequency domain of the staggered blade is somewhat similar to some doublesuction pumps. 26 The frequency domain analysis and comparison showed the characteristics of pressure pulsation.…”

“…Dans ce but, de nombreux travaux expérimentaux [l, 2,3] et numériques [4,5,6,7,8] ont été réalisés. Notons cependant que la plupart des travaux numériques considèrent séparément l'écoulement dans la partie tournante et dans la partie fixe [5,6] ou bien un écoulement potentiel ou quasi statique [4,9].…”
