Experimental Characterization of a Micro Gas Turbine Test Rig

Abstract: For the development of efficient and fuel flexible decentralized power plant concepts a test rig based on the Turbec T100 micro gas turbine is operated at the DLR Institute of Combustion Technology. This paper reports the characterization of the transient operating performance of the micro gas turbine by selected transient maneuvers like start-up, load change and shut-down. The transient maneuvers can be affected by specifying either the electrical power output or the turbine speed. The impact of the two diffe… Show more

“…Table 2 presents the results for the full load operation of the micro gas turbine in dry and wet mode, the latter being at the maximum steam/air ratio. The data are in accordance to the results presented in the literature [9,15] and small deviations can be attributed to the applied compressor map and the used fuel composition.…”

“…They measured its effectiveness for various flow rates and temperature differences between its streams. Their results were in full agreement to these presented in [9], and showed a relatively weak dependence of the effectiveness on the inlet temperatures and mass flow rates. The results of these works were the main sources of validation for the model of the dry mGT presented in the current paper.…”
