The current study examines the influence of ABS, PLA, and PETG filaments and printing parameters on the surface quality and tensile strength of the samples produced using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. For this purpose, a print experiment design has been made according to the Taguchi L27 index. While filament material, filling ratio, layer thickness, filling speed, and scanning angle are printing parameters, surface roughness and tensile strength are print quality indicators. Regression analysis has been also applied to mathematically model the surface roughness and tensile strength values obtained from experimental measurements. The outcomes of this study show that the filament material plays an important role in the surface roughness and tensile strength. Moreover, it has been determined that the surface roughness of PLA filament is 7.23% and 54.19% less on average, respectively, compared to ABS and PETG filaments, and also the tensile strength of PLA filament is 46.46% and 34.12% higher compared to other filaments, respectively.
